Heat Barrier XP Radiant Barrier Insulations
During the Apollo missions NASA developed a thin light weight space suit for astronauts. The suit was designed of many thin layers of aluminized material as insulation so the suit would reflect the body heat of the astronaut back at them. This enabled the astronauts to survive in space. If the suit was made of conventional materials the suit would be so thick the astronauts could not move. This technology has now made it into our homes. A typical home looses 50% of its heat through the ceiling in the form of radiant energy. By blowing several layers of Heat Barrier XP Insulation (aluminized flakes) over your conventional insulation your heat is reflected back into your home. This heat recycling can lower your heat bills by as much as 50%. A Thermos uses this same principle to keep your coffee piping hot. Insulations qualify for a 30% Federal Tax Credit.
A Quick Visual Explanation of
How HeatBarrier XP Works:

During the winter, radiant heat is reflected back into the home. This prevents heat lose through the ceiling. The opposite occurs during the summer. Heat reflects of the HeatBarrier Insulation, preventing it from entering your home and reducing the need to turn up the air conditioning. Proper ventilation helps remove this heat from the attic.
