Search the FAQ for entries containing:
The “R” value of HeatBarrier XP is 3.5 per inch. R value depends on the number and size of the airspaces surrounding the radiant barrier and on the direction of the heat flow. Since sheet Radiant Barrier is usually installed on top of existing mass insulation, its R-value is a moot point. HeatBarrier XP reflective insulation is a flaked radiant barrier that traps thermal heat in addition to reflecting radiant energy. It is HeatBarrier XP's ability to reflect heat that makes it such an energy saver.
